Beating world records – the most amazing knockout in boxing history

People watch boxing matches for a variety of reasons. Some are watching for the sweet science that is: all the technical skill that some boxers possess can leave a person’s jaw on the ground. Others watch him for his amazing display of courage and desire. There have been stories of superior boxers who won their bouts with grit and grit. But let’s face it, many of us watch boxing to see two amazing athletes beat the hell out of each other. We all love the mouthy horns, thunderous right hooks, and especially the amazing slam dunks this sport produces!

A slam dunk is for boxing as it is for basketball or a home run for baseball. It is an iconic event for boxing and many people remember the fights for their knockout quality. Here are some of the most memorable strikes in boxing history:

– Lennox Lewis vs Hasim Rahman, 2001: This is one of the more shocking blows of Lennox Lewis’ illustrious career. He had just been knocked out by the underdog Abdul Rahman in their previous encounter and was out for revenge. After a classic display of heavyweight action in the first few rounds, round four saw Lewis connect with a devastating right to send Rahman to sleep and give fight fans one of the most epic knockouts ever filmed.

– Floyd Patterson vs. Ingimar Johansson: These two rivals were equal in almost every respect. They were the best fighters on their continent, with both coming to represent their countries at the Olympic Games. Their rivalry saw Johansson defeat Patterson 7 times in one round in their first fight to become the first longtime European Heavyweight Champion. Their second fight, however, saw Patterson put the hammer in the fifth round to knock out Johansson and regain his championship.
